In this article, we will explain how BrightMove posts your jobs to job boards.
Overview of JobGorilla
BrightMove includes a real time posting mechanism for most of the major job boards, and batch posting for a handful of other free boards. Our product called JobGorilla, is a proprietary job distribution engine (JDE). JobGorilla is a flexible and robust platform that has been designed to make it easy to plug new job boards and APIs into BrightMove. This is how we enable the Edit Once, Post Everywhere philosophy.
How it Works
BrightMove has developed relationships with various job boards and has integrated JobGorilla with their respect feed formats and requirements. We have a special way of sending them jobs from BrightMove so that the jobs will post on their sites just as if you had gone to the site and manually posted it yourself. When you add, edit or delete a job in BrightMove, the respective changes are made on the job boards, eliminating hours of job posting management on the various job boards.
Posting Jobs
To post a job externally, simply select the Publish to Web button on the Web Description tab of the Job Screen. This will queue the job for posting using JobGorilla. Jobs must be marked as "Published to Web" in BrightMove to ensure they are sent to external job boards. If this option is not selected while creating the job post, the job will only be visible internally. To correct this, locate the "Publish to Web" checkbox next to the job description field and ensure it is selected before re-publishing.
Tracking Job Postings
To see activity associated with job board posting, see the Job Board Posting tab on the Job screen.
Processing Times and Visibility
BrightMove updates its job feed once every hour, while external job boards, like ZipRecruiter, update every four hours and may perform job posting reviews prior to making the jobs visible. This results in a typical delay from the time a job is posted in BrightMove to when it appears externally. We suggest waiting 24 hours to ensure the job had an appropriate amount of time to post based on volume of the job board feed.
Troubleshooting Tips
If your job doesn’t appear on external boards after 24 hours:
Revisit the job posting in BrightMove to confirm the "Publish to Web" checkbox is selected.
Verify all required fields are populated.
Contact BrightMove support if issues persist beyond the expected timeframes.
Confidential Job Postings for Staffing Companies
There are times when an employer may want to fill a position without making the hiring process public. Common reasons for posting a confidential job include:
Replacing an existing employee without alerting them before a replacement is secured.
Protecting strategic plans such as a new product launch, expansion, or market entry.
Filling sensitive or high-level positions (e.g., executives) where public posting could cause speculation or unwanted attention.
Avoiding internal disruption or gossip within the organization.
Recruiting from competitors without tipping off the industry.
How BrightMove handles confidential postings:
In BrightMove, if you leave the company name out of the job description, only the company name tied to your account will be associated with the listing within our system. This applies to BrightMove Staffing Edition companies only.
However, different job boards handle “confidential” postings in different ways. While BrightMove can ensure your company name is not visible in the job description, some boards (like Indeed) may still display or infer the company name based on the posting source, your employer profile, or required feed data.
If you want to be extra certain your company name stays private:
Post directly to job boards that offer a true confidential posting option, such as Indeed or LinkedIn, and select that option during posting.
Note: Jobs posted directly to a job board using their confidential posting option will not flow back into BrightMove automatically. These postings are managed entirely outside of BrightMove and require a separate, manual setup between you and the job board.
Post the job internally in BrightMove and share the private job link only with candidates you choose to target.
This approach ensures your listing reaches only the candidates you want, without risking your company name appearing publicly.
