BrightMove displays posting status indicators on each job record so you can quickly see whether a job has been successfully distributed to job boards or if action is needed. This article explains how to identify a posting error, where to find more detail, and how to resolve the most common issues.
Status Indicators
On the Job Board Posting tab of a job record, three icons may appear at the top of the page:
Job Included in Feed β The job is actively included in the distribution feed and has been sent to job boards.
Application Received β At least one application has been received through a job board for this posting.
Posting Error β A problem occurred when distributing this job to one or more job boards. Action may be required.
Each job board listed on the tab also shows its own individual check mark or person icon when the posting was successful and an application was received, respectively.
What to Do When You See a Posting Error
Open the job record and navigate to the Job Board Posting tab.
Look for the red Posting Error indicator at the top of the tab.
Click View Logs (top right of the tab) to see the full error log, including the specific error message and the date and time it occurred.
Identify the affected job board and the error message in the log.
Apply the appropriate fix based on the error (see table below).
Automatic Reposting Once the underlying issue is corrected, BrightMove will automatically attempt to repost the job. You do not need to manually resubmit.
Indeed Distribution Errors
Indeed is one of the most common sources of distribution errors due to specific data requirements on the posting. The table below lists the most frequent errors, their causes, and how to resolve them.
Error | Cause | Fix |
Recruiter missing email | The recruiter assigned to the job does not have an email address on their BrightMove profile. | Add an email address to the recruiter's profile in BrightMove, then allow the system to repost. |
Job missing state | No State is populated in the job record's location fields. | Add a State to the job record and save. The job will repost automatically. |
Job max salary < job min salary | The salary range is inverted (max is set lower than min), or no max salary value has been entered. | Correct the salary fields so that the minimum value is less than or equal to the maximum value. |
Using the Job Board Report
For a broader view of posting activity across multiple jobs, use the Job Board Report available in BrightMove's reporting section. You can filter by date range, job board, and status to identify patterns or review historical distribution logs across your entire job pipeline.
