Downloading Resumes in BrightMove

Grab exactly the resumes you need, without exporting more than you should

Need to grab resumes for several candidates at once? For a client, a hiring manager, or your own records? BrightMove now surfaces a resume download button in more places across the platform, so you can move through a job's candidates or a Power Search list and download each resume in just a couple of clicks, without hunting for the file first.

Why this matters: Resumes often contain sensitive candidate information; addresses, phone numbers, sometimes SSNs or other personal data depending on the source. Routing downloads through the Submittal Details modal, one candidate at a time, means only the exact resumes you need ever leave the security of the ATS, not an entire batch you didn't mean to export.

Where to Find It

The download button appears anywhere you're viewing a resume:

Location

Path

Applicant Profile

Resume tab → Resume table

Job Profile

Submittal tab → View Resumes

Job Profile (BrightFlow view)

Document icon on each candidate

Power Search

Applicant Power Search → View Resumes

The button is enabled wherever a resume has an associated file attachment. Text-only resumes (no uploaded file) aren't downloadable, since there's no file to retrieve. If the button is greyed out, this is why.

Best Practices for Downloading Multiple Resumes

Working from a job
Click View Resumes on a candidate to open the Submittal Details modal. This is where the download button lives. Once you're in the modal, use the arrows at the top to move between candidates without closing out, downloading each resume as you go. This keeps you working through the full candidate list in one place.

Working across jobs
Go to Candidate Power Search and filter using "Within Job." Select a job from the dropdown, add the filter, then repeat to add any other jobs you want included. Click the dropdown caret on the filter to join the jobs together (this combines them into a single list of all candidates across every job you've selected, rather than filtering to just one at a time.)

From that combined list, right-click a candidate and select View Resume. This opens the same Submittal Details modal described above. Use the arrows at the top to move through candidates and download each resume the same way.
