Organizing Conversations in Engage: Recent, Unread, and Starred

Keep your most important conversations front and center.

Engage organizes your conversations into groups so the most relevant threads stay visible without digging. Here's what each group means and how they work together.

Recent
Conversations with activity in the last 7 days. A conversation can appear here and in Unread, Starred, or its Channel/DM group simultaneously.

Unread
Conversations with messages you haven't read yet, marked with a red badge. Once you click into a conversation, it's marked read and drops out of Unread automatically. Unread conversations also still appear in their original Channel or DM group.

Starred
Use the star icon in the conversation header to star any conversation. Starring pulls it out of its Channel or DM group and into Starred instead. Starring is per-participant — it only affects your own view, not your teammates'.

Active Conversation Highlighting
When a conversation lives in multiple groups, the blue "active" highlight follows wherever you clicked it. Collapse that group, and the heading stays blue so you always know where your active conversation is.

Sorting
All channel groups are sorted by last message date, newest first.
