Organizing Conversations in Engage: Recent, Unread, and Starred

Engage organizes your conversations into groups so the most relevant threads stay visible without digging. Here's what each group means and how they work together.

Conversations with activity in the last 7 days. A conversation can appear here and in Unread, Starred, Submittal Chats, or its Channel/DM group simultaneously. Recent shows up to 5 conversations at a time. If there are more, a "See More" link appears below the list. Clicking it opens a drawer showing all conversations in the group; the link changes to "See Less" while the drawer is open. On mobile, the same See More / See Less behavior applies.

Conversations with messages you haven't read yet, marked with a red badge. Once you click into a conversation, it's marked read and drops out of Unread automatically. Unread conversations also still appear in their original Channel, DM, or Submittal Chats group. Like Recent, Unread shows up to 5 conversations at a time, with the same See More / See Less drawer behavior.

Submittal-related conversations are grouped into two sections:

A section only appears if it has at least one chat. Mentioning an applicant in a chat ( or removing them) automatically moves that conversation into the correct section.

Use the star icon in the conversation header to star any conversation. Starring pulls it out of its Channel, DM, or Submittal Chats group and into Starred instead. Starring is per-participant. It only affects your own view, not your teammates.

When a conversation lives in multiple groups, the blue "active" highlight follows wherever you clicked it. Collapse that group, and the heading stays blue so you always know where your active conversation is.

All channel groups are sorted by last message date, newest first.

The avatar dropdown includes a Go to ATS link that takes you back to the ATS. Clicking the Engage logo takes you to the dashboard in Engage. On mobile, use the sidebar toggle (positioned above the top pane) to open the sidebar.
