Sharing Job Links: Internal vs. External Portals
BrightMove portals allow you to share job opportunities with the right audience, whether internally to employees or publicly to external applicants. While the process to generate shareable links is the same, the type of portal you select determines who can see the jobs.
This guide walks you through both use cases:
Sharing Internal Job Links (Employee Portal)
Use this process when you want to make jobs available to current employees only, not to the public.
Share the Full Internal Job Portal
To give employees access to all open internal jobs:
Go to Settings > Candidate Experience Portals
Look for the portal with Type: Employee
Before sharing, confirm:
The portal is set to Active
Secure (SSL Enabled) is turned ON to avoid browser warnings
Click the Copy Link icon (clipboard symbol) next to the portal name
This link will show all jobs that are marked “Publish to Internal” under the job’s internal description settings.
Share this link via email, intranet, or internal messaging to give employees ongoing access to internal job opportunities.
Share a Direct Link to a Specific Internal Job
To promote a single job internally:
Open the job’s Profile > Job Description tab
Make sure the Web Description is filled in
Switch to the Internal Description tab and click Publish to Internal
Scroll to the Job Sharing/Posting section (this can be found in the left-hand “baseball card” panel of the job profile, about halfway down the column.)
Under Direct Link to Job on Candidate Portal, select your Employee Portal from the dropdown
Click the Copy Link icon
You can share this link directly with employees via internal communication channels like email or chat.
⚠️ Note: This direct link includes a refresh=true
parameter. It is intended for short-term sharing (e.g., email or intranet posts).
For long-term or website use, we recommend linking to your Employee Portal homepage instead, where all internal jobs will always appear as they’re published.
Sharing External Job Links (Public Portal)
Use this process to make jobs publicly accessible on your website, job boards, or social media.
Share the Full External Job Portal
To give the public access to your open jobs:
Go to Settings > Candidate Experience Portals
Look for the portal labeled Type: Public and marked as Default
The Default public portal is typically used for general job site visibility
Confirm the portal is:
Active
Secure (SSL Enabled)
Click the Copy Link icon to copy the public portal URL
This link will show all jobs that are marked “Publish to Web” under the job’s web description settings.
You can embed this link on your website or share it with external applicants.
Share a Direct Link to a Specific External Job
To promote a single job publicly:
Open the job’s Profile > Job Description tab
Fill in the Web Description
Ensure Publish to Web is enabled (this is done in the same Web Description tab)
Scroll to the Job Sharing/Posting section (this can be found in the left-hand “baseball card” panel of the job profile, about halfway down the column.)
Under Direct Link to Job on Candidate Portal, select your Default Public Portal from the dropdown
Click the Copy Link icon
You can use this link in marketing emails, recruiter messages, or social media posts to direct applicants to a specific job.
⚠️ Note: This link includes a refresh=true
parameter and is not recommended for embedding on your public website.
For long-term site placement, link to your main public portal instead, it will always display current job listings without relying on individual links.
